昼花火の部　Daytime Hanabi

　昼花火は、雅趣に富んだ見応えあるもので、昔から花火通の粋人が好む花火であった。現在昼花火競技を行っているのは、全国でも大曲だけ。
　「煙竜（えんりゅう）」と「割物（わりもの）」の2種類で競技を行い、その形と色の組み合わせにより総合美を競い合う。
　「煙竜」は、色煙（紅、黄・青・緑・紫など）が織りなす模様やその変化する様が、「割物」は夜の割物花火と同様に「菊」や「牡丹」を色煙や光でどのように表現するかが重要なポイントとされる。

Both impressive and elegant, daytime hanabi have been enjoyed by hanabi connoisseurs for generations. Today, Omagari is the only place in Japan where a competition of daytime fireworks is conducted.

The competition consists of smoke dragons and warimono, where entries are judged on their artistic merit through a combination of shape and colour.

Significant criteria for smoke dragons are the intertwining and colour-shifting of the smoke streams (red, yellow, blue, green, purple etc.), and for warimono are the way coloured smoke and light are expressed, similar to evening hanabi.
